Electronic Anesthesia Beats the “Shot”

Electronic Anesthesia Beats the “Shot”

Feb 06, 2020

Q: I need tons of dental work, but I had a lot of pain getting the shot to numb me a few years ago and never went back. What can be done instead of the shot?

A: I have been treating Holocaust survivors living below the poverty level for free. The patients are referred by the Alpert Jewish Family Services of Palm Beach County. I read that a 97 year old man just had his Bar Mitzvah a few days ago.

Gerry S. was in four different concentration camps. Surviving was more pressing than thinking about his delayed bar mitzvah. Many of his relatives were slaughtered by the Nazis who also took ownership of the family’s sheet metal business.

It got me thinking of my Bar Mitzvah. I feel like telling Gerry; “don’t get your hopes up; annoying relatives you never heard of with perfumes that can knock out ISIS, chicken as tough as….well, chicken! And expect to get a CB Radio and lots of pens.” (Today it’s probably an iPad and mutual funds.)

On March 13th at my Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry Summit 2020, I will present slides on electronic anesthesia which consist of three hi-tech devices:

  • Comfort Control Syringe (CSS): similar to an IV pump; just for the tooth, not your arm.)
  • Vibraject: Vibrates the needle to stop the pain stimulus from reaching the brain
  • Dental Vibe: vibrates tissue and bone to further block pain on the “‘ole neurons. “
