What I did Today…

Feb 24, 2020

Q: What did you do today?

A: Today was a six Advil day. I had to take three at lunch and three after dinner. My back and neck needed a bit of break; I had my 13 lb. Chihuahua, Caseydoodles, walk on my back. The only problem is he fell asleep after three minutes. I think the Chihuahua union has not yet negotiated for overtime pay.

9:00 AM to 11:15 AM: Ten lower porcelain veneers on extremely crowded, crooked teeth; we had finished the uppers last week.

  • Gave local anesthetic with an electronic device for comfortable injections called the CCS,Comfort Control Syringe, the Vbraject and the Dental Vibe. (See demo slide on this and everting I used today at my free summit meeting on the 13th of March; details below.)
  • Using electric quieter diamond drills with fiber optic lights, shaped the enamel down by 0.8 millimeters on the face of each tooth.
  • Took a NO-Goop, digital impression scan with our iTero Element scanner; (great video at the seminar.)
  • Placed ten great looking temporaries that will be swapped for the permanent veneers in three weeks. Patient loved the temporaries.

11:15AM to 11:30 AM: Ate a Streit’s Matzo sandwich of scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese. Delish. Oh, and a Yoo-hoo; matzo can be a little dry.

  • 11:30AM to 1:00PM: Used a Diode laser instead of a scalpel to uncover three implants I had placed three months ago. Then placed three Locator attachments which will soon allow a lower denture to snap on and not move around all over the place.
  • Used the No-Cut method to place one more implant in an area that I had placed a bone graft previously to grow more bone, allowing for four implants vs. three. This new type of implant will not need three months of waiting before it is used to anchor the denture.
  • Adjusted the patient’s existing lower denture to allow them to continue using it for now.

1:00 pm to 2:15pm: Eggplant Parmigiana. Trevini’s Palm Beach. Chocolate Almond Flourless Tort. Incredible. (Sorry, we will be serving hot pretzels at our Dental Summit; actually pretty darn tasty!)

2:15 to 3:15pm: Took impressions to make a temporary removable tooth for a patient waiting for an implant.

3:15PM to 5pm: Cemented a crown, adjusted a bite, and evaluated some digital X-rays and texted Casey to get his legs ready.
